'Poetry by Donna'

Pen & Page

Donna reveals to us a perspective of the life that surrounds her by expressing it through her unique style of poetry. She gives us her interpretation of Bible scriptures and includes the scripture source at the end of most of her poems. Donna's contributions deserve a place where we can all benefit by reading and discovering through her poems how she always gives from her heart daily. Please make note that each verse of the poems start with the letters of the title of the poem read virtically.
        The following are a couple of her works and as time goes by we will add more. The first poem is not titled virtically.

THE WORD OF GOD
“With God all things are possible.”
“Ask and you’ll receive.”
Are promised in the Word of God
For those who so believe.
The Bible is our guiding light;
“A lamp unto our feet”.
The Word of God, the truth, the way
If Christ we are to meet.
The Psalms are songs to lift our heart,
Encourage us each day;
And Proverbs contain wisdom
To lead us on our way.
Isaiah speaks of things to come
And prophesies a birth;
A virgin who will bear a son
And bring God to earth.
Matthew, Mark, Luke and John
All agree it’s true,
That Jesus is the Son of God
And what Isaiah knew.
Alas, Saul was changed, for he was Paul
When he received the light.
In Acts we find the Word of God
Is meant for All who might—
Accept in faith and then be saved
As promised in God’s Word.
Know in your heart that Jesus lives;
Tell others what you’ve heard.
Hold sacred what the Bible says
And you’ll be truly blessed,
For you will find in the Word of God
A Hope above the rest.

Winter Picture

WINTER

When Nature is in slumber
I dle in the deep
Nonetheless, she's dreaming of
True promises to keep
Eventually, she'll awaken
Revitalized by sleep
Psalm 74:17 -"Thou hast made summer and winter."

Spring Picture

SPRING

Soon we shall see
Purched in a tree
Robin red breast
I ntent on her nest
Nature will sing
Greeting the Spring
Song of Songs 2:12 -"The season of singing has come."

Summer Picture

SUMMER

Sun rising at the break of day
Unceasing throughout time
Maintaining with a warming ray
Making life sublime
Eagerly it lights the way
Reassuring Natures rhyme.
Genesis 8:2 -"While the earth remains...summer and winter...shall not cease."

Autumn Picture

AUTUMN

As the change in seasons
Unfolds before our eyes
Transforming all around us
Under pastel skies
Many are the reasons
Nature now declines
Ecclesiastes 3:1 -"To everything there is a season."

The Poetry Cards

Picture Frame Samples Clicking on the image to the left will show a larger picture of two different examples of a clear plastic frame which we use for the Poetry Cards. These are made with a magnet attached to the back which will adhere to most metal surfaces such as your refrigerator. These frames can be purchased at most department stores for less than a dollar and we think you may like it too.

Displaying Pictures in a Frame Clicking on the image to the left will show a larger picture of an example of how you display your cards or images in the frame. Feel free to print these out and are formatted as a 3 1/2" x 5" or 4" x 6" to fit the frames as shown here. After opening the link, do a "save as" to your computer, and from there the cards may be printed any size you wish. WindowsXP is designed especially to aid you in printing specific sizes without the use of an image-editing program. We suggest using card stock or photo paper for your images so they will be more durable. Just slide it between the clear plastic sides to hold it firmly and your ready to stick your picture magnet to a metal suface.
